Friday 5

Wow, this week flew by....And just like that, it's Friday baby!! We have a jam packed weekend ahead, birthday party, holiday outing for me and the Mr, a baby shower.. wheewww....but I hope we can find a little time to relax and get some more checked off our to do list. Oh yeah, and work on my mile long Christmas shopping list. Please tell me I am not the only one WAY behind on that this year? I mean how is Christmas two weeks away! Two. That is panic mode right there for ya.

-ONE-
Snail Mail
Got the remainder of my Christmas cards sent out at the beginning of this week. I love working on them to get them sent out, I dare even say fun, but I am also glad they are all done.. I did have one very late night.

-TWO-
Movie Time
I seriously LOVE this movie. It may be one of my all time favorite Christmas movies. I even love watch it when it's not Christmastime. I love the story line, and the houses in it are beyond gorgeous. Are you obsessed with this movie too? And how is it that I haven't even been able to watch it yet this year :( It is on my weekend to do list for sure, we'll see if I can squeeze it in?

-THREE-
Santa Baby
Last Wednesday we attended a Soup and Santa outing at a friends church. This is our third year attending and it was so fun to have both boys on Santa's lap this year. And hooray for no tears!!

-FOUR-
Nail Fail
On Wednesday night, I attended a Holiday Bazaar that a friend from my mom's group hosted. She is in direct sales and she had organized this get together of other vendors as well as a holiday one stop shop. It was a good time and got to check out that Younique mascara that my friends have been talking about and have made it's way to my wish list. #iwantit

Then I stopped by the Jamberry nails  table and had the rep do a demo on me. Which was good, because ironically I had just purchased these the day before for a good friends fundraiser.

Jamberry Nail Wrap in Champagne Toast
Then, I went home, nursed the baby and took a shower. And this happened.

Yep. Came right off. I hope I have more success with the ones I bought. I mean, it wasn't even 4 hours here people! Here's to hoping, and a money back guarantee. Oh, and the rep is who put them on, so I can't take the blame on this one :(

-FIVE-
Waddle In
Liam has a birthday party for his cousin Charlie on Saturday and I'll admit we are all excited we are going to see this movie for the party!

Liam LOVES penguins, so he's excited about that. Mr.P is probably just excited about the movie theatre popcorn. And Grandma is going to come and watch the baby so we can have some one on one time with  just Liam. Plus who wants to take a baby to a movie. #notthismama

Have a great weekend Friends!!

Our Christmas Card 2014

Our 2014 Christmas Card
I ended up loving the color scheme and bright colors of green, red and peach. See here to view some of the cards I was considering. I ordered them from Vista Print and have gotten many other things from them over the years and have been happy with their products.

I also ordered these cute and coordinating  return address labels.

A few comments-
Pros:
-Loved the different color scheme, I didn't really see any other cards out there using these colors this year.I looked at many different sites.
-The card stock is great, heavy and thick.
-The finish is glossy, and while I rather have had a more matte or paper like finish, it is still looks very nice.

Cons:
-The gold lettering only looks like gold foil, it really is not in real life.
-The a few of the pictures on the back are not quite as crisp as I would have expected so that is some what disappointing.
-They sent me NO extra envelopes! Which stinks since I did make more than a few errors this year.
I found ones that were the same size at Hobby Lobby- #thankgoodness

Overall I am very happy with them and probably would order them again if I had a chance for a do over. I still really like the colors and design so I am happy with these!

Family Photos 2014

We had our family photos done right after Halloween. Yep, Sunday of the time change. I referenced some more of that crazy day here.Yeah no gold star of mom planning there. And I probably didn't mention after a long Friday night of trick-or-treating bliss, we loaded up and went to Omaha to spend the day at Grandma and Papa's house and a late visit to a state park/pumpkin patch.. Only to load up and come back Sunday morning. We were all tired. And getting Liam to smile or even cooperate for pictures is a feat in itself. Never mind a husband who hates pictures, a baby or a dog. #goodgrief

So here they are, we didn't end up with too many options, but we got some pretty good ones so that is all that matters in the end right?? I used a gal that I had never used before. Lindsey at LjM Photography. You can find her facebook page here.
She was really sweet and patient with Mr. Liam and his constant escape of that darn camera!!

Wow, these make my heart full of gratitude and love.
Love these men of mine.

My Christmas Wish List...

Monday again. Oh, how you so quickly sneak up!!! Hope you all had a great weekend, we sure did. It was so nice to be at home and get our to do list done and be at home and just relax. Get caught up on all that I've been meaning to do and not yet done! Including finishing my Christmas decorating, cleaning, laundry and finishing my Christmas cards! I will be sharing those later this week.

I will be doing a little Christmas cheer around here for the next couple of weeks and devote to all things jolly ;)

Today I am sharing my Christmas wish list. Normally I struggle to find things to add, or I am bad and just save up and buy what I want myself, so I have a hard time rounding up a list. Looks like this year is not one of those years ;) I've been eyeing several of these items for a while now and with Christmas and a birthday in January, I just may get lucky. A few of them have already found their way to our house in the to- be-wrapped pile ;)

Have a great Monday Friends!!

Friday 5

Wow, this week flew by and was so slow all at the same time! After our super busy holiday weekend last weekend, I think everyone in our family welcomed some much needed rest and routine. Although, we've had things going on three of the five nights this week so maybe not as much rest as I thought. Here is my Friday 5-

-ONE-
DKNY Tights
I picked up these DKNY tights at Von Maur at the beginning of November. I was out looking for shoes for our family photos at the eleventh hour, of course! and decided I didn't want to run to Target just to get tights after my shoe shopping. So I ran by the hosiery department on my way out the door and found these, on sale, so I paid around $12. Originally they are $16 so I thought $12 wouldn't be much more than I'd spend at Target and it was convenient. I can be kinda cheap on socks and hosiery, but I am so glad these made their way home with me, I am loving them! They are so soft and stay up (ya know what I mean). These guys have been in heavy rotation lately, forcing me to bust out all those skirts and dresses at the back of my closet. I am thankful though, I actually like dressing up for work :)

Here I am rocking the gray today. These tights are so soft and comfy!!

-TWO-
Moody Gray
I have been obsessed with this nail polish lately. It isn't new and I have it for a while now, but this has been my go to each time I've painted my nails the last month or so. Just can't get enough of this OPI You Don't Know Jacques. Perfect for fall huh?

-THREE-
Light it Up
So this cute and fun little book light made it's way into my Amazon shopping basket this week for the second time this year. I love giving this as a gift. Especially to the young boys in my life who aren't big yet, but not small either. It's the perfect in between age type gift. This latest purchase will be making it's way to my 7 year old nephew in Portland along with a joke book, which I kinda think he will love! Love the touch on and off button, so fun! I may need to finally get one of these for me!

-FOUR-
Say Ahhhhh
Another item that is a repeat buy for our house is these baby spoons. I originally purchased a set of 5 from Target when Liam was around 6 months old. Now that Oden is a full on three- meals-a-day eater (of baby food of course!) we are in need of more. Two have gone missing and didn't make it home from Montessori, and I still have Liam use these for his yogurt every morning. They scrape the sides of the cup or a baby food jar great! But couldn't find them at my local Target anymore so I added these to my Amazon order as well.

-FIVE-
Good Soaps
I picked up these soaps at Whole Foods a couple weeks back when I ran in for baby food, milk and turkey dogs. I love a good bar soap and always on the hunt for ones I may really like.I've used the goats milk soaps before and really liked them but they melt fast and get gooey in the shower, these are made of Shea butter so thought I'd give them a try. I use bar soap to shave my legs rather than that messy foam stuff. And these scents are amazing. I did a little more research when I got them home and they are actually made in West Africa. Below is a little clip I got from the Whole Foods website-
I picked up the 3 bars for $6 dollar deal and came home with Sunshine, Mint and Coconut. Tired the Sunshine first and it's still lasting. Smells like clean laundry. I am defiantly be adding these to some of my gift giving this year!!

Alaffia Good Soap These five-ounce soap bars in scents of holiday spice, candy cane and pine garland are triple milled and made with shea butter and are long lasting with a full rich lather. Soaps made by Alaffia, an organization that empowers West African communities to become sustainable through the fair trade of indigenous resources and encourages empowerment through community projects, fair trade women's cooperatives and through education and involvement in local customer communities.

I mean how cute is this!

Good Soaps as gifts

We have a fun Santa event this evening and a weekend full of tackling our to-do list at home! Being away last weekend defiantly left us behind at home. And I have to finish my Christmas decorating. But the tree is up, I will share pictures of that next week!

Happy Weekend Friends!

Black Friday Deals

Did you go out this Black Friday??
Honestly, I really didn't. Well not in the way I used to anyway. To date myself here some, it was always a tradition to have Thanksgiving at Craig's parents for lunch, then we'd visit my grandparents for a snack in the evening. Then we'd head back to Lincoln so I could sleep for an hour (ha, usually it really was only 1-2 hours) to get up around 3 am to go with ads in hand, a plan and my mother-in -law in tow.

But the last two years have been different, the stores open ON Thanksgiving day! Which I think is ridiculous! Who wants to cut their Thanksgiving or family time short if you are blessed to be off that day, just to run to the store and fight those crazy crowds at 6pm!! Well I used to be one of those crazy people minus shopping on the actual holiday thing. Now that things have changed, so have I.

This year however was just too exhausted. Lame. I know. I didn't even lay out all the ads, go through each one and make a list. I browsed a couple, and make notes on the front covers. We didn't get home until 11 pm, and I was beat being up until 2 am the night before making pies. So I had planned on going out after we got home but went to bed instead. You know what, the one thing I was sure wouldn't be there in the morning when I ventured out was there. I got up at 730 and the baby and I headed out to Walmart.

Craig and Liam ventured out as well after a stop at the donut shop. They ran by Target and picked up this camera I was eyeing. I have a nice Casio digital pocket camera that I'd have for a long time, but this one was a nice step up from that without the big price tag. It has pretty good reviews, the only draw back is that it only takes AA batteries. No recharging dock like my current one. I look forward to trying it out and seeing the difference in picture quality.

So while the boys were strolling though Target with my camera riding along in the cart. I was at Walmart, picking out these small finds. Nothing big or exciting over here. We don't need TVs, we have an iPad, smart phones and a fancy coffee maker. So while in years past, I have waited in line for a Garmin, raced to find the ONLY blush pink Kate Spade handbag at Sams or a score on a Keurig Platinum Coffee Machine, this year we just didn't need or even really want anything. Lets face it, less is often best anyhow. And my mission the next 6 months is to downsize our "stuff" anyways. Perfect way to start!

I did have fun shopping, we'll see what next year brings. But I doubt I'll be one of those crazy 6 pm-iers!!

Catching up with Us- Part 4- Three Became Four

Our hearts all grew larger the day our family of three grew by one more and welcomed a new baby boy.

Oden Anders joined our family on April 4th, 2014. Commonly refereed to as Odie or Odie Bug by our family. Oh this boy, such a snuggle bug, a real mama's boy, a cuddlier, loves to he held and loves mama's milk. He is always such a happy guy. The world's best baby. Seriously. Only cries when he wants his milk ;) Was a big boy, and super loonngg! Almost 23 inches! He has been sitting up since right before Halloween and we are on the verge of being a full blown crawler. He has two teeth that popped through on his 5 month birthday. Of course the weekend mom and dad were out of town for a long weekend. But Grandma said she never even noticed. He LOVES Liam and lights up with and adorable smile any time he talks to him or gives him a toy. Liam has of late, loves having Oden in the exersaucer so he can play with him and bring him cars and toys. "No Odie, that's not for you" is a common phrase we hear often from big brother! LOL He is a sweetheart and has a bit of spunk and independence his brother has. He also loves to be on the go! Especially now that we are mobile.
